Nationals send P Lannan to minors

06/21/2010 - Washington, DC (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Washington Nationals have optioned opening-day starter John Lannan to Double-A Harrisburg.

The left-hander was 2-5 with a 5.76 earned run average in 14 starts this season.

In a corresponding move, the Nationals selected the contract of right-hander Joel Peralta from Triple-A Syracuse.

Peralta was 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA and 20 saves with the Chiefs. He is 4-11 with a 4.61 ERA in 221 major league appearances with the Angels, Royals and Rockies.

Washington also transferred pitcher Garrett Mock from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list and reinstated pitcher Ross Detwiler from the 60-day DL and optioned him to Harrisburg.

Will he or won't he?  Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.

Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.

Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.

Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.

But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.
